Travel to Newport Beach is convenient with daily direct flights to East and West Coast cities from the region’s major airports, including Los Angeles Airport (LAX), Long Beach Airport (LGB), Orange County Airport (SNA), and San Diego Airport (SAN).
Orange County/John Wayne Airport – 7 miles / 15 minutes
Long Beach Airport – 14 miles / 30 minutes
Los Angeles Airport – 50 miles / 60 minutes
San Diego Airport – 87 miles / 90 minutes

Shuttle service is available to John Wayne Airport (SNA) for a $75 fee per party. We recommend scheduling in advance to ensure availability. If you would like transportation from Los Angeles International (LAX), Long Beach Airport (LGB), or San Diego Airport (SAN), our Concierge can assist in booking a service.

Balboa Bay Resort is located directly on the beautiful Newport Bay. Due to the geography of the bay, we do not have direct beach access for Resort guests. However, because no Newport Beach vacation is complete without a little sand – popular Newport Beach Peninsula is located approximately two miles from the Resort and offers miles of ocean beaches. We also encourage you to explore local favorites, such as Corona del Mar State Beach or Crystal Cove State Beach.

We understand plans change and encourage you to contact us as soon as possible to cancel your reservation. All reservations are required to be cancelled 48-hours prior to 12:00 pm on your arrival date, unless otherwise noted on your reservation. Please note that packages and special promotions do often carry additional cancellation policies.

It’s vacation time! Check-in is daily 4:00 pm, with check-out at 11:00 am.
If you are arriving prior to check-in or departing after check-out, you are welcome to enjoy the Resort facilities while we store your luggage.

Early check-in and late check-out are available based on availability and may incur an additional fee. Please visit or call the Resort Front Desk upon arrival to enquire about availability.

A+O Restaurant | Bar is the place to enjoy daily happy hour or a relaxed weekend afternoon. Featuring expertly crafted cocktails, local brews, and sharable plates, the restaurant’s nautical inspiration reflects the Bayfront setting. Guests can enjoy casual indoor and outdoor seating, including fire pits and live weekend entertainment.

Blend is our Italian-inspired coffee shop offering freshly brewed coffee drinks, espresso drinks, pastries, paninis, grab ‘n go sandwiches, and sundry items.

The Spa at Balboa Bay Resort

The Spa is located on the Club side of the Resort. Our full-service spa offers treatments including massages, facials, and body scrubs. Guests are encouraged to arrive 20 minutes before their appointment time and utilize the Locker Rooms which feature a eucalyptus steam room, whirlpool and showers. We are a member of Preferred Hotels & Resort’s iPrefer Program.

The Resort is the sister property to the private Members-only Balboa Bay Club. The Resort is open to all guests, including locals enjoying dinner and drinks. You do not need to be a Balboa Bay Club Member to visit the Resort.

Valet as well as self parking are available onsite. Prices vary depending on length of visit.

We love welcoming our adorable four-legged guests to the Resort! We welcome one dog per room with a $200 non-refundable, one-time fee*.
*Fee is waived for service animals.

The Resort’s 25-meter pool is heated to 80 degrees and is open daily from 6:00 am – 10:00 pm. Guests can enjoy chair-side service, lounge seating, and the option to rent private day beds or cabanas. Oasis Pool+Bar is open seasonally offering craft cocktails, wine, beer, and a full pool menu for lunch or snacks.

Bikes, Kayaks, & Duffy Boats

Get out there and explore with on-property bikes, kayaks, SUP boards, and Duffy boats.

As part of our commitment to a luxurious guest experience, there is a daily Resort Fee of $40 which includes complimentary high speed WiFi on property, sparkling wine pour daily from 3pm-5pm, shuttle service within 2-mile radius of the resort (based on availability), two bottled waters in room on a daily basis, Nespresso in-room tea and coffee replenished daily, Chromecast streaming service, evening turndown service, use of beach cruiser bikes for one hour, children’s amenity, complimentary local and national newspapers in the lobby including USA Today and Wall Street Journal, plus complimentary use of sand toys for a day at the beach including boogie boards, beach umbrellas, towels and beach chairs (based on availability).

Rollaway beds are available for $50 per night. Pack and play cribs are complimentary. To ensure availability, please confirm your request when making your reservation.

In Room Dining is available Monday-Sunday 7am-10pm with breakfast ending at noon Friday-Sunday. Guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late-night menus, as well as beer, wine, and liquors.

Complimentary transportation within a 2-mile radius is provided by the Resort based upon availability. Popular locations include Fashion Island, local beaches, and restaurants. Guests are encouraged to schedule the shuttle with Valet ahead of time.

There is no smoking or vaping in any guest rooms, including on the balconies. The designated smoking areas are located outside the Ballroom near the porte-cochère. Smoking fees will be applied.
